I Have been teaching at the school since 17th April 2011 to till now. I have worked as a Physical Education teacher at RKM Public School Kapahi. I feel that students need better preparation for physical activity outside of the school environment. It is great if we can engage students in PT class, but if they graduate from high school and then become inactive, it seems that a great deal of work is lost. We need to create situations where students are self sustaining in terms of their physical health. It would be tragic if we get students to “buy-in” to a healthy lifestyle, but then they leave PT class without a clue how to go about it. Thus, they need to be aware of exercise opportunities in the community, or feel confident enough to lead themselves.
